"description":"The Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA) is administering the $14.3 million 2017-18 Natural Disaster Resilience Program (NDRP), jointly funded by the Queensland and Australian Governments under the National Partnership Agreement on Natural Disaster Resilience. 72 projects from 54 councils and 11 organisations and agencies have been approved in the 2017-18 NDRP funding round.  The objective of the NDRP is to reduce Queensland communities\u2019 vulnerability to natural disasters and build community resilience. NDRP funded projects include a range of infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects to build community resilience, including flood gauges, projects to ensure power supply, water and connectivity during events, community resilience officers and social programs to ensure the community is prepared for and more resilient to natural disasters.  In May 2018, the Queensland Government announced a $38 million Disaster Resilience Fund which will support local governments, state agencies and non-government organisations deliver mitigation and resilience projects across four years starting in 2018\u201319, in parallel with disaster reconstruction works.  The DRF aligns with the Queensland Strategy for Disaster Resilience which aims at making Queensland the most disaster resilient state in Australia.",
